One of the best ways for someone to learn a new language is by watching television in that language. Tutoring a student in English as her second language, I assigned television series for her to watch. Before each session, she had a certain amount of episodes to watch. Sometimes, I would assign a movie instead. During our lessons, we would discuss the episodes and share opinions on what happened. Furthermore, some assignments would be based on what was just watched. Sometimes, it could be answering a very specific question. Other times, she would have to write a reflection.
